In a few days time, the concession contract for the first Logistics Center in Thriassion Plain will be sent to the Court of Auditors. Then, it will be ratified by the Greek Parliament and sometime in the first quarter of 2018 the construction phase of the project is expected to commence. The concessionaire is the Consortium ETVA VIPE-Goldair, while the payment to be awarded to GAIAOSE as a fee is 10mn euros.

According to Ypodomes.com, the contractor of the project, ARCHIKON technical company is one of the most experienced when it comes to logistics infrastructure construction as it has previously undertaken private projects both in Greece (Attica) -for a big supermarket chain- and abroad, in Bucharest and Belgrade.

According to the same information, the construction scope, for a timeframe of 10 years, is estimated at 130mn euros and includes the construction of utility networks’ infrastructure (sewage, internal road network, parking areas etc.) and the construction of buildings (warehouses, administration buildings). The scope also includes the construction of a double railway line, linking Thriassion Logistics Center with the main railway network, which is already completed in the adjacent property.

Regarding the completion schedule and phases of the project, as Ypodomes found out, during the first 2 years (T1 period), there will be constructions worth 70mn euros that concern 143 acres of land and warehouses covering a surface of 120,000 sq.m. During T2 period, which refers to the next 8 years after T1, another 120,000 sq.m. of new buildings will be added. Of course, if there is a demand from companies to rent the site, construction works can be completed in a shorter time.

Undoubtedly, this is the most important building infrastructure project in Attica, that will give a significant boost to the technical sector. During the construction phase, hundreds of people are expected to be employed, while after the operation of the Logistics Center 3,000 jobs are expected to be created.
