The pre-contractual period for the large investment in the Thriassian Plain Logistics Center in Western Attica continues. An area of 142.3 acres is expected to be transformed as an investment of 180mn euros is being prepared by the contractor’s consortium: ETVA VIPE-Goldair.
According to information provided by senior executives of Goldair at Ypodomes.com, as soon as the contract is signed, the investment which will transform the area will commence. But, what is really going to happen?
Our information is very clear: The plan includes the construction of warehouses, railway lines (infrastructure-superstructure-electrification), administration offices and control centers, while the big news is the supply of crane gantries that Goldair considers indispensable for the successful management of the containers.
Crane gantries has been decided to be installed and move on fixed tracks, similar to those operating in the port of Piraeus. This means that a significant amount of the investment will be directed to the smoothing of the ground, as it is required for the slick operation of the cranes.
Within the same area, a container storage and parking space for vehicles will also operate. Now, an independent engineer will be hired in order to supervise the construction works on behalf of the State.
What is currently expected is the contract to be approved by the Court of Auditors which will lead to its ratification by the Greek Parliament, that will finally allow the signatures of the concession with GAIAOSE.
According to safe sources, due to the labyrinthial licensing procedures, the 180mn-euro projects is not expected to start before the beginning of 2018 with is duration being at least 2 years. It is worth mentioning that the consortium has already come to an agreement with a 6th grade technical company.
