New tender for a big environmental project in Western Thessaloniki

The Stream Arrangement project in the area of ​​Oreokastro, Thessaloniki, was put up for tender. The project also includes the construction of the necessary rain networks.

This is a particularly important anti-flooding project for the area of ​​Oreokastro in Western Thessaloniki, specifically in the area that stretches from the junction of the Inner Ring Road to Egnatia Odos which is shielded to a large extent.

The projects concern the Dendropotamos, East Galini, East Oreokastro and Asimaki watersheds.

The project has a cost including VAT of 15.5 million euros (12.5 million euros without VAT). The tender of the project will take place on September 6 and the following day on the 7th, the bids will be unsealed. The project has an estimated duration of 30 months from the day of signing the contract.

The contract provides for an extension if deemed necessary. The project is funded by the Recovery Fund and should therefore be completed by the end of 2025.

The object of the project

The object of the contract is the anti-flood intervention in the important streams of the Oreokastro area.

More specifically:

Dendropotamos stream

– Temporary works to divert water, rehabilitate existing WWTP networks, service riparian properties and divert traffic

– Construction of open and closed rectangular sections from reinforced concrete

– Construction of technical works from reinforced concrete, road crossings from the stream, to replace inadequate existing ones

– Construction of arrangement cross-sections from staggered wire boxes

– Covering of trapezoidal sections from wire boxes

– Construction of joints from wire boxes to the existing technical ones

– Construction of water collection wells for the new technical works of road crossings

Stream East of Oreokastro

– Construction of a cross-section with bottom lining and slopes with wire boxes in the area of ​​the river mouth in Dendropotamos and upstream up to the existing maintained technical

– Construction of elevations to retain loads and reduce the compensation slope, from wire boxes

– Construction of thresholds to stabilize the bed and the slopes, from wire boxes

– Construction of a high level of flood and flood prevention, from wire boxes

– Cleaning natural cross-section

Stream East of Galini

– Configuration of bare (soil) cross-section in some sections, due to zone limitations of the approved demarcation.

– Construction of elevations to retain loads and reduce the compensation slope, from wire boxes

– Construction of thresholds to stabilize the bed and the slopes, from wire boxes

– Cleaning natural cross-section

Asimaki Stream (downstream section)

– Temporary works for the control, diversion and pumping of water at all levels-levels of work execution

– Temporary diversion of traffic

– Removal of part of existing cross-section and deepening to the level of compaction of micropiles and piles

– Construction – compaction of micropiles and piles

– Exposing existing collector of dirty and transverse private connections

– Placement with temporary support of the two soil pipes on either side and connection to the private connections.

– Construction of the soil wells

– Additional excavation to the final level and removal of the existing soil pipe

– Laying of permeable material for drainage and sanitation and placement of three cement pipes for drainage and drainage D=0.30m.

– Construction of the Asimakis settlement pipeline, with closed and open sections of reinforced concrete and the water collection wells on both sides

– Construction of earthworks and sidewalks on both sides of the Asimaki St. pipeline. Backfilling on the upper slab of the Asimaki stream pipeline

Stream Asimaki (upstream section)

– Construction of new technical works from reinforced concrete, road crossings from the watercourse

– Construction of arrangement cross-sections from staggered wire boxes

– Construction-configuration of mixed cross-sections arrangement from staggered wire boxes and bare trapezoidal section

– Construction-configuration of unclad trapezoidal arrangement cross-sections

– Construction of joints from wire boxes to technical ones

– Construction of water collection wells for the new technical works of road crossings
