The Council of State has suspended, temporarily, the tender for the selection of a contractor regarding the expansion of Piraeus Port (South Zone). The companies that have appealed are Terna SA and J&P-AVAX SA, against the Pre-litigation Appeals’ Review Authority and PPA (Piraeus Port Authority).

More specifically, the companies requested the suspension of both the decisions of the seven-member commitee of the Pre-litigation Appeals’ Authority and the suspension of the call for Expression of Interest for the selection of a contractor for the construction of Piraeus’ passenger port expansion project (South Zone , Phase A’), with a budget of 136.283.800 euros (excl. VAT).

The suspension has been accepted and is now in force until the final decisions on the legal issues, are reached, which will determine whether or not PPA must comply with the European law. The expansion of the passenger port in the South Zone is a part of the mandatory investment package (master plan), worth 293.8m euros, scheduled to be implemented until 2021.
