The competition for the implementation of the “Andreas Lentakis” Governmental Park has begun, as the contract for the assignment HRADF  (Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund) to conduct the competition for the development of the “Andreas Lentakis” Government Park on the former facilities of EBO-PYRKAL in Dafni was signed on Monday, June 3rd. The contract was signed by the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, and the appointed advisor of the Fund, Panagiotis Stampoulidis.

The project will be implemented using the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) method, and the competition is expected to be announced soon by HRADF’s Strategic Contracts Unit. The project involves the construction, financing, maintenance, and operation of the “Andreas Lentakis” Government Park, and includes the creation of a new administrative complex of buildings as well as an urban park that will serve as a “green lung” for the wider area, on the EBO-PYRKAL facilities in Hymettus.

The park is planned to house nine ministries (Finance, Development and Investments, Environment and Energy, Labor and Social Affairs, Rural Development and Food, Health, Tourism, Culture and Sports, and Interior) as well as certain agencies (AADE, HCAP S.A., HRADF S.A., ETAD S.A.). These services are currently located mainly in the center of Athens, but also in Piraeus, Maroussi, and Cholargos, in a total of 127 buildings, of which 107 are rented by the government and the remaining 20 are government-owned.

The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, stated: “The creation of a government park and green lung in the heart of the urban fabric of the Dafni-Hymettus area is an emblematic redevelopment for all of Attica. This redevelopment relieves the city center, creates open spaces and recreational areas in former industrial sites, saves resources for the government, and enhances the quality of life for residents of the broader area.”

Meanwhile, Panagiotis Stampoulidis, the appointed advisor and head of HRADF’s Strategic Contracts Unit, stated: “For HRADF, it is a great responsibility and challenge that the State and the Ministry of Finance have entrusted us with the implementation of one of the largest competitions ever conducted by the Greek public sector. The ‘Andreas Lentakis’ Government Park is a project that will have a significant social, economic, and environmental impact for the residents of Attica. It is a project that rationalizes public administration expenses, upgrades services for public officials, and generates a new dynamic economy within the urban fabric of Attica.”
