The expedition of all relevant tenders and the submission of the large-scale project proposal in Brussels is pledged by the Greek Infrastructure Ministry. According to a Ministry’s document, that came to knowledge of Ypodomes.com, answering to a question of the independent MP, Nikos Nikolopoulos all required procedures are to be concluded until June.

More specifically, the 6th tender for Kato Ahaghia-Sagheika road section will take place on May 30th, th 7th tender will be announced during this month leaving the 8th and last tender’s announcement for June, concluding a never-ending process that lasted 2 years.

It is noteworthy that the 4 first tenders were one by Toksotis-Omada Kataskevon J/V and the 5th one by Interkat-Ksanthakis J/V. Nevertheless, the inclusion of Patra-Pyrgos Motorway in NSRF 2014-2020 funding tool requires at least 70% of the project to have been tendered in order to be considered “mature” enough.

Additional studies carried out by the EU, concerning the funding requirements of the project are expected to sort out and avert possible setbacks when the proposal reaches Brussels. The next stage of course would be the pre-contractual period, that will last at least 3-4 months, letting the construction works for the motorway to commence, the earliest in the beginning of next year.
