A review of the tenders received by the new Government, “solely on the basis of the protection of the public interest; i.e. required implementation times, costs, legality and service for the citizens”, was announced by the Infrastructure and Transport Minister, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis in his interview at Eleftheros Typos newspaper.

On the issue of toll prices’ increases in Attiki Motorway, Mr. Karamanlis expressed his opposition to this perspective and made clear that “we are determined to defend our decision for the interest of the citizens by all means provided by the law”.

Concerning the construction of the Patras-Pyrgos Motorway, he noted that there will soon be a solution “that will lead to its implementation and not to the creation of yet another “ghost” project.

Regarding the construction of the Crete’s Northern Motorway Axis (aka VOAK), the Minister reported that the necessary studies have already begun in order for the required permits to be issued, while the structure of the project and the way of its implementation are also being examined.
