Uprade works for Thessaloniki, Santorini and Kos airports are now under completion, while Mykonos airport will be delivered in July, as the contractor company, INTRAKAT, announced on the occasion of the visit made by the Greek PM and the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the previous weekend.

It is noted that INTRAKAT team has completed the first 10 airports, making a “titanic” effort to overcome the side effects of Covid-19 in the operation of the company’s construction sites, developing a unique know-how on an international scale “amid particularly unprecedented and difficult conditions”, as noted by the listed company.

According to the company, on Sunday, the Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during his visit to Santorini for the “opening” of Greek tourism, was informed about the progress of the works at the new airport by Mr. Petros Souretis, CEO of INTRAKAT and Mr. Vangelis Baltas, CFO and Mr. Elias Maragakis, COO of Fraport Greece.

One day earlier, on Saturday, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, accompanied by the Secretary General of Infrastructure, Mr. Karagiannis, was given a tour at the new airport by Mr. Petros Souretis, Mr. Dimitris Pappas, INTRAKAT’s Advisor and Mr. Bill Fullerton, CTO of Fraport Greece.

“I would like to thank Fraport Greece for the trust it has shown to INTRAKAT in this difficult and globally unique venture to implement this simultaneous project for the 14 airports through an EPC contract”, said Mr. Souretis.
