It is going to be a tight race regarding the completion of the Greek Motorway Network. For Olympia Motorway, it is going to be easier as the ongoing asphalting works are expected to be completed within the first 2 weeks of July, releasing the axis to traffic, free of traffic arrangements that were enforced frequently until now.

Ionian Motorway’s Amfilochia-Sellades 27-km-long road section is due to be released to traffic soon too. This is the first pending project (out of 2) that will conclude the majority of the remaining 41 km. The completion of the motorway’s northern end (14 km) seems to be more challenging though with the expropriations being pivotal for the section’s delay.

Finally, E65’s constructions works are also concluded with one issue remaining unsolved: the expropriations for the road connection between the existing network and the beginning of the motorway in Ksiniada. Nothing can be really predicted here, with the most tangible indication for the future being the Ministry’s commitment, to Brussels, that all motorways will be fully completed and functional by the end of August.
