Positive developments regarding the approval of the large-scale project of E65 Motorway’s southern section, between Lamia and Xyniada, keep coming. As Deputy Minister of Economy, Mr. Alexis Charitsis stated, the Project’s Envelope has been approved by the relevant Committee of the European Union and a notice is expected within days or weeks, allowing the contractor to settle in the southern section of the motorway axis.
The same was mentioned by the CEO of GEK TERNA, Mr. Giorgos Peristeris just a few days ago, when he referred to the same project.
The initiation of the construction phase will bring, once again, new jobs in the area, as the completion of Xyniada-Trikala section (the central part of E65 Motorway) last year, apart from ease and comfort for the drivers, created a considerable employment gap.
Regarding the northern section of the motorway, Mr. Charitsis noted that the procedures for E65’s final section, Kalambaka-Egnatia Motorway (via Kipourio Grevenon) will be launched shortly thereafter while the construction stage is expected to begin in 2019, as all obstacles have been now surpassed.
