Big projects, promising to change the lives of millions are going to be completed in less than a month’s time. Ypodomes.com has gathered and presents you the most significant of them.

Beginning from last month, Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center in Athens was officially handed over to the Greek State. As of yesterday, March 14th, another vertical axis connecting the country’s northern borderline to Egnatia Motorway (Komotini-Borders) was released to traffic. Moreover, Greece’s brand new motorway network will go operational in the end of March, inaugurating a new era in the local road transportations: Olympia Motorway (Corinth-Patras), Central Motorway/E65 (Ksyniada-Trikala), Aegean Motorway’s last section (Evangelismos-Skotina) which will complete P.A.Th.E. axis will be ready except for minor pending works. Additionally, another 2 vertical axes of Egnatia will be released too (Siatista-Kristallopighi and Thessaloniki-Promachonas).

Regarding other infrastructure, Chania Airport, Aghios Andreas hospital and the PPP project for the construction of 24 schools in Attica region will be also completed till Easter time. Phase B’ railway project in Thriassion logistics center is due to be completed soon.

Nevertheless, Summer 2017 has in store several releases of other important railway projects such as the electrification of Piraeus-Athens-SKA line, the completion of Tithorea-Lianokladi section with a length of 52 km while in the end of the year we expect the operation of the (temporarily) non-electrified Kiato-Eghio section in Peloponnese.
