Two major railway projects to be auctioned by Easter

After the conduct of the tenders for the electrοmobility in the Larissa-Volos section and the signalling in the Thessaloniki-Eidomeni section, ERGOSE is preparing two more projects.

These are the second phase projects of the Central Station of Athens and the contract for the completion and operation of the new double line Aigio (Rododafni) -Rio. According to information, the two projects will be announced by Easter. ERGOSE within the year will put forward all the contracts that are funded by the NSRF 2014-2020.

These two projects are each important for their own reasons. The project of the 2nd phase of the Central Station of Athens concerns the upgrade of the other docks of the station but also the underground connection with the Metro station “Larissa Station” which is located just outside the railway station.

Upon completion, the project will form a more modern and functional environment in the central station of Athens, which, however, is structurally and functionally degraded due to age. The cost of the project reaches 50 million euros.

Aigio-Rio double line

The project of completion and commissioning of the Aigio-Rio section is the most important project for our national network. The contract concerns the installation of lines, electric drive, signalling, ETCS but also the construction of the new stations of the department.

In this section, two contracts, that prepare the ground (infrastructure) under the lines, are in progress and therefore all the necessary expropriations have been carried out.

When the project is completed, the modern electric train will be able to reach the gateway of Patras, ie Rio. The cost of the project reaches 130 million euros.
