Eleven NSRF-funded, large-scale projects from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport

Eleven major projects are running with NSRF 2014-2020 funding, from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. According to a document by the General Secretariat for Public Investments and NSRF, in response to a question from MP Stavros Kalogiannis, from ND party.

These projects run through YMEPERAA (Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development). Out of 22 large-scale projects -for which the Large Project Dossiers have been already submitted- 14 are phasing projects; i.e. from the previous programming period (NSRF 2007-2013) whereas only 8 relate to the current period.

Twenty of the abovementioned dossiers have been approved, with the remaining two still pending as they have been recently submitted. It is worth mentioning that 6 of these projects have been completed and one more is close to the finishing line, leaving 15 more to be completed from the submitted Large Project Dossiers.

Projects under YMEPERAA Operational Programme:

– Egnatia Odos vertical axis Siatista-Krystallopigi, Koromilia-Krystallopigi section, Phase B’

– Extension of Athens Metro Line 3, Aghia Marina- Piraeus Municipal Theater and trains’ procurement (Completion and Operation – Phase B’)

– Construction of the road link between Aktio with the western axis (Aktio-Amvrakia)

– Extension of Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria (main construction works and trains’ procurement- Phase B’)

-Thessaloniki Metro, Main Line (Construction completion and trains’ procurement – Phase B’)

– District heating for the town of Florina

– Construction of the new double-track railway line between Athens (SKA) and Patras, Diakopto-Rododafni section (section B’)

– Improvement/Upgrading of the western Thessaloniki ring road (from Interchange 16 to Interchange 5)

– Construction of Patras-Pyrgos Motorway

-Construction of Lamia-Xyniada section of E65 Motorway

– Western Tramway extension project to Piraeus
