Construction progress of E65 Motorway’s southern section at 36.6%

The overall progress on Lamia-Xyniada road works has now reached 36.6%. It is reminded that the southern section of E65 motorway is the connection with ATHE motorway axis (at the 203rd km) to Xyniada Intersection, (32.5th km of E65 motorway). Works have been underway for about a year and asphalt paving is almost complete from the beginning of the road up to the 19th km.

Othrys Twin Tunnel has been opened in full while temporary retaining works have been completed for 2.1 km, out of a total of 3 km. Bridges and other technical works record a progress of 53.29%, asphalt pagements 24.28% and earthworks 40.27%. The total construction period of the E65 southern section is 36 months and its delivery is expected by the end of 2021.

The Greek PM, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, visited the project last Decembe, along with Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Kostas Karamanlis, stressing the government’s willingness to also promote the northern section of the E65, from Trikala to Grevena and its connection with Egnatia Odos.
