The international tender for the installation and operation of the new electronic tolling system in the Greek motorways is proceeding. According to well-informed sources of ypodomes.com, the evaluation process, which will decide which companies will proceed to auction’s Phase B’, is well underway. It is reminded that the participants are:

1. Actor – Intrakat – Intrasoft Int’l- Autostrade (Italy)

2. Mytilineos – Nusz (Hungary)

3. Terna – Vinci – Kapsch Traffic Com (Germany)

4. OTE – T-Systems International GmbH (also a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom Group)

5. STRABAG – SkyToll (Slovenia)

As it seems, all 5 participants, meet the criteria and, most likely, will go on to the next phase . At the same time, the Ministry of Infrastructure is preparing the tender documents for the continuation of the process.

If there are no delays , then in mid-2019 the financial offers will be unsealed and by the Autumn, the “golden” contract, worth 400m euros, will have been awarded and signed.

Proportional charges (and removal of the traditional toll booths) are expected to be applied in all motorways, even those that have not be conceded, with main examples bein the future major road projects of Western Greece: Patra-Pyrgos and Aktio-Amvrakia Motorways. Egnatia Motorway will also be included in the electronic tolling system.
